Tom's Corner

You'd have to be living under a rock these days to keep from noticing the "buzz" in the biomedical and life science research communities surrounding the explosive breakthrough in high-throughput sequencing technologies. Not only does this make it possible for sequencing centers to ramp up on large comparative genomics projects involving multiple species, tumor types, strains, and individuals, but also makes it possible for individual research labs to access high-throughput sequencing capabilities on the retail level. While large-scale sequencing of organisms, screening of massive sets of candidate disease genes, and the like, has previously been the exclusive domain of international sequencing centers, these research tools will become as commonplace as micro-array analyses and chip-based genotyping. Whatever the end-goal for the research, the next generation of high-throughput data will create a new surge in demand for new software tools and methods for interpreting this data in the context of a myriad of fascinating hypotheses. As you prepare to take advantage of these new research tools, remember that software for data analysis and management will be a key piece to the puzzle. Bio::Neos has deep experience in handling sequence data in a variety of these contexts and we are excited about the possibilities of addressing your data interpretation needs. If you are gearing up for a large-scale sequencing project, or even if you are currently in the midst of one, contact us for more information about how we can help you reach your research goals by creating software to support the latest sequencing tools and techniques.

Website Facelift

We have unveiled our new design for our website as of May, 2008! The new design is has a more professional look to it, and does a better job of reflecting our business image. The update should also make our site easier to navigate with a much more consistent and easy-to-follow interface. We have also added several new tools including a Google search tool, printing tool, and a tool to share a page with your colleagues. Additionally, we have added some new content and updated some of the old content.

If you are experiencing any problems with the new site, please report these problems to us right away. Also, send us any suggestions or comments about the new layout if you have any. We hope this new design will benefit all of our current clients and any new potential clients as well.
